New site section: MacRumors Shop (http://shop.macrumors.com/)
And new associated forum: Mac Shop - Items of Interest (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=51)
This is not a traditional shop or store. Instead, it provides sponsored links to various venders as well as items of interest (mac or not mac related).
The purpose is to provide regular readers another method to support the site. Supporting the linked sponsors helps support this site... but does not require a direct contribution.
Cost of items bought at various stores are the same to the reader. So, there is no disadvantage in purchasing items via the Shop.
In other news... the Frosted Contributor's Mug is out of stock and may not be returning.
Official (frontpage) announcement to follow....

I would suggest partitioning the SSD in half, and using the 2nd Partition for Scratch. The SSD is going to respond faster, than the 7200, and thus your not compromising the disk with all your images on it. At least if the SSD crashes, its just your OS, and you can restore it. Images on the other hand, if not backed up, usually go poof....
There's no point in partitioning an SSD.
Partitioning is useful on a HDD, to force files into a 'fast' area of the disk, or prevent fragmentation. Neither are issues for SDD (and the SDD controller effectively ignores partitioning anyway - wear levelling can store a new file in any physical location).

I order books, music used and new, software, and telescope parts from them and I have never had a problem. They have always been very cheap and prompt.

how much do these two cost? surely they are not free are they?
I've no idea how much they cost. My access is provided 'free' of charge by my university. If the OP is in university in the States, it almost certain that his/ her school provides access for its students.

Currently, I have two Airport Express base stations acting as repeaters for the main Linksys router. I can roam from Airport to Airport fine, but can't do this once connected to the Linksys.
I am considering getting an Airport Extreme to replace the Linksys router, but I have two questions.
1. Will roaming work throughout the house perfectly if I switch to an Airport Extreme as the main router?
2. How do you go about setting this kind of system up? I believe it's similar to a WDS, but I want to use Ethernet on each base station because I can and it will be faster than relying on wireless.

Recently this was not a problem, but I play games and have bound keystrokes to my mouse buttons. The buttons on my mouse correspond to pressing number keys on my keyboard 1, 2, 3, etc. Up until a few days ago if I held down the shift button on my key board and pressed on of these buttons it would be as though I were holding down the shift and pressing the number key. Thus I could type "!" by pressing shift and the button on my mouse correspond to 1.

Have you called Apple about a replacement? I'd keep it personally.
Just to let everyone know, I am referring to the horizontal lines that are present in all 15" PB screens.

Is there any utility out there that I can add to System 7 Today so that my visitors can get in on the folding fun?
If not, somebody should make one.

I searched for this topic, but couldn't find it. I'm trying to join tracks in iTunes, I've done this many times before, but it's been a while. For some reason, the option to do this under the menu is grayed out. Am I missing something? I can't get this to work! I'm using 4.7.1. Thanks for the help.

Yeah those are definitely really nice monitors. However, a little more than I was looking to spend. I am considering this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009261&Tpk=S211HLbd)

I won an iPod Shuffle through a penny auction, and despite that it was supposed to be a black third-generation, I got sent a blue current-generation (I wouldn't complain about the upgrade). However I'm not a big fan of the blue color, though the finish is really nice. Which stores would likely let me exchange this blue iPod Shuffle for a silver iPod Shuffle without a receipt? Its really not a big deal for a store to exchange colors since they all have the exact same value. I wanted to try Best Buy, but I don't think they would do the exchange due to their fairly strict item scans. Ideas?

Dale,
Strange.. yes, viewing through photoshop.
Attached is a screenshot showing two windows.
Left is viewing in ID, and right is viewing in PS after exporting to jpeg (nvm the pixelation, just blowing up to show what's going on).
Using an iMac 27", and I also see this discrepancy on my iPad.
I setup the ID size to 1024 x 768, for iPad resolution.
Just can't figure out why it's doing that.
Thanks-

yes, Mr. Taxi! That's it! Mountain Dew is already selling insanely well, meanwhile Pepsi was probably on the verge of getting sued for false advertising because Sierra Mist tastes crap, and nothing like a making-out with a hot chick after she rubs ice, lemon, and lime on her lips (believe me, this has been tested :D)
Therefore, MD sales need no boost while people are trying to GIVE Sierra Mist away!

I've done basic PHP dev on dialup when necessary...it's not a dream but it's functional. Image heavy sites or anything with flash or video content would have been a problem, though.
