I would say it's probably a good idea to upgrade. It gives you a few days to get used to the new OS and also the opportunity to back up your stuff so you can have your new iPhone just the way you like it on Thursday. I'm not sure if you can restore from backup from 3 to 4. I would assume you could but you may as well eliminate all variables, you know?
Good points everyone, thank you. So I did it last night - took forever to download - but my 7 screens of apps now fit in 2 with the folder set up, and I couldn't be happier.

I find MacRumors as a great place for help, and I ask on here before any other forums.

a little update (as im still praying for possible solutions)
I have win764 on a single drive , osx lion on a single drive & osx 10.6.7 on a raid 0 ... all 500gig drives (2 hitachi 2 seagate for whatever thats worth).
When i run Win7 with the Lion Drive in the machine...it runs great as does a reboot into Lion. (still again only with the AppleMT driver disabled.)
As soon as I plug in the 2 drives with osx 10.6.7.(raid0) ..Win7 crashes within 5 minutes after booting. Pull those 2 drives out & it runs perfectly stable again.
Does anyone know Why this happens?
thanx kindly for your time&knowledge in advance

I had a similar issue when I was making purchases across both my iphone and direct through the store on my macbook - when using gift cards the balances would be different in each. Seemed to resolve after a sync.

Has anyone noticed with Lion that the amount of available space being reported is seriously off? On my MBA, which I store almost nothing on, it's telling me that I'm using around 80 gigs of space, with about 40 available.
When I install WhatSize to check this out a little more closely, it looks like I'm using about 30 gigs total.. not 80, and I'm finding this strange.
Cheers!

My 867 mhz G4 PB takes 15 hours to crunch a unit....I thought that was decent, but if your 450mhz G4's are crunching a unit at 12-14 hrs that would make my PB really slow. huh. And yes, I have it at maximum processor.

Hey guys,
I've been using my air to connect my xbox to xbox live as i dont have a wireless adapter and the router is unreachable by cable.
I've had a fair few problems achieving this, however i have had it working.
However now my mac isn't recognizing the ethernet cable. It claims the cable is unplugged or the device on the other end isn't responding. However in 'networking' under 'system preferences' it would normally show an amber light if this was the case. (currently shows the red dot)
i currently have the IPv4 set to manual with my ip at 10.0.0.1, subnet at 255.255.255.0 and internet sharing set as on.
I'm confused as to why when it has been working before it has suddenly stopped, and why the mac isn't recognizing it at all. I've also tried restarting.
Can anybody help?
(have the USB Ethernet adapter fyi)

How was the 'room buzz'? I have seen the vid of the presentation and it looked like a good time was had by all.It was my first SuperMeet so the buzz was strong :)
I got to meet a few vendors that I was interested in too.
The folks that put this together gets my thumbs up.
They did a great job and kept all of us in high spirits.
The demo was amazing since I feel the new timeline is ground breaking.
Ive been using FCP since v1 and go as far back as Premiere 2.0 and not Premiere Pro either :)
I welcome this new way of working and hoping Adobe/Avid adopts this for After Effects, Premiere and MC.

Since the 2nd computer is the admin, that user will be able to look at the logs on the TC. Pretty much every router keeps a log of the URLs accessed by each computer.
So the admin will pretty much be able to see which websites you've visited. Plus the logs are timestamped.

Awesome. So she will be able to see my posts in this forum then? Haha. Dang, oh well. Thank you to everyone for the info and help! Great forum here.

Is this a fresh install? There are reports of spotlight reporting 11 days or some crazy timeframe to index the volume. The mdworker process throttles back down to normal once Reeder is closed?
Yes its a fresh install and it goes completely away once Reeder closes (after about 1 min though)

Most of the info I have read pertaining to BF 1942 says that it does not run well on Intel architecture. So much so that I canceled my order for it from Apple. I haven't read much about UT 2004 though.

Since this is not a feeler thread, it is probably not appropriate to thread crap....
Thanks and no, it's not.
Non-interest. If you have no need for the items or don't like the price, items, payment method, or other terms, ignore the thread. Do not post negative remarks about the sale or seller based on their offer, or suggest to others that they buy other products or buy/trade at other sites. Do not post unsolicited price advice or comparisons of the offer with those from other sources. Do not try to derail somebody else's sale by posting in the thread. I was thinking of buying an iPod nano online from the Apple store.
The thing is that I never bought an Apple product online before.
I want to know exactly how a credit card charge on the Apple store breaks down; if there are hidden fees, etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

My 15" Powerbook G4 (1.67GHz Superdrive) 80 GB hard drive is getting a little cramped so I'm looking for a bigger drive to replace it with.
Obviously the new drive needs to be just as quiet and fast (or better).
The current drive is reported as Seagate ST9808211A (http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/support/disc/manuals/ata/100378844b.pdf) by System Profiler and is apparently rated with a max. transfer speed of 100 MB/sec, rotation speed of 5400 RPM and a noise level of 2.4-3.1 Bels (24-31 Db). It's worked without any issues since 2005.
There doesn't seem to be much to choose from when it comes to 2.5" drives these days, so I'm basically left to choose between the WD1600BEVE (160 GB, WD2500BEVE (250 GB) and WD3200BEVE (320 GB) "Scorpio Blue" models from Western Digital (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=140). Are these any good or should I search a little harder and hopefully find something by Seagate again?
The reason I'm a little hesitant with Western Digital is that I have a couple of WD10EARS (1 TB) and WD20EARS (2TB) "Green power" drives which has this annoying feature that parks the drive head every 8 seconds or so, causing a lot of waiting and unnecessary tear and wear. They don't exactly advertise this fact (and it can't be disabled, at least not from Mac computers even though there's a DOS tool that used to work with the first batches of these drives when connected to a PC), so I'm worried that all current Western Digital drives might have these "features" (faults).
Are the 2.5" models from Western Digital a safe bet in comparison to my current drive?

I tried with a HDMI-splitter. No output, just dark screens :/
What exact HDMI splitter did you use and how much did it cost?
May it have been a splitter with three inputs and one output?
