That looks confusing.
Sorry to hear that. I tried to make it as straightforward as possible, but it's not a simple process. If you'd like to buy some disks that are already made, Eric Shepard sells them here:

You could leave afp on ;)
Was the apple TV the only device using afp? Perhaps when you
hacked the atv you broke its afp and it does not disconnect
cleanly. Try turning off the atv, then turning off afp.
You could try turning off file sharing completely, then
just enabling smb.
I'm not sure why you want to do this, afp typically works
better than smb on apple devices.
the only reason i was using smb is because of a hacked atv 1, and it was having me mount share drives and change afp to smb, not sure why?
I FINALLY GOT MY SHARING BACK!
my mac pro would totally freeze every time i clicked afp, and then i would pram it, and then i tried clicking on filie sharing and it would totally freeze, and YES MAYBE YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT THE ATV!!
i unplugged the atv, and then went and re did the pram, and clicked on sharing and whala! it is now back!
thanks for the reply!

Drove by Westworld at 8pm and they were closed, Simply Computing had OPEN sign displayed but don't think there's many people shopping there. Those two stores are simply a case of Dumb and Dumber. Vancouver needs an Apple store or at the very least a better reseller. I'd rather give my money to Best Buy or even Future Shop.

Anyone know if these are the same loops already released months ago by Drums on Demand directly? I already downloaded those (they're good!) so I won't bother downloading again if it's the same set.
TIA!

What kind of TV? OTA or Cable box?
The TV in my apartment is connected to a cable box, I think.

Im pretty new to both mac and xcode, so hoping someone here can help out!
I joined the free mac developer program and downloaded and installed xcode 3.2 and ios 4.1 (i think they were the versions) a while ago.
I basically wanted to have a look at creating an app for the iphone.
Anyway, I see xcode 4 is now out, but it seems I cant get it free the same way as I did with xcode 3.2 and have to download it from the app store. Is this correct?
If i get it from the app store then does it come with the ios sdk, or do i have to get that seperate?
Finally, how do I remove 3.2 (xcode) if i go ahead and get xcode 4? I would have no need for 3.2 and have no projects etc i need to keep?

Nope, sorry. Snow Leopard is Intel only.
I got it,not possible.:( thank you.
Your G5, as stated, pretty much maxes out at 10.5.8. You can try running a Linux distro on it, if you really need to, once Leopard's support completely ends. Leopard is still rather usable for most things, though, so keep that G5 around! After all, people still use Tiger after its official support has completely ended
If you absolutely need Snow Leopard, though, I'd advise looking at some older used Intel machines. Just make sure it's at least a Core 2 machine - the Core series is officially being dropped from Lion. (though I'm sure something like XPostFacto will surface for it...)
ok or it could be 10.5.9, thank you. :apple:

No. I didn't think that step was necessary because I had to go through the "black screen fix" which I thought included installing the drivers as one of the steps, but perhaps the driver folder I copied didn't include all of the relevant files.

I'll give that a try. Thanks again.
Update: That took care of it (and a couple of other little problems). Thanks!

Lossless definitely sounds better than 192Kbps mp3 encoding, when there is a good source. The file size will always be larger since it doesn't lose any quality.

I added a folder to Xcode with a collection of images, 456 images to be precise. I need to add these images to an NSMutableArray so I can later view them in an IKImageBrowserView. I could add each of these images manually to the NSMutableArray, but that would take a very long time. How can I access folders that are used by my program and add them to an NSMutableArray?
Thanks
Thanks

Quick question - Do I still need MyWi to tether my iPhone 3GS to my iPad?
I'm on IOS 4.2.1, Jailbroken and use MyWi 4.0 to tether my iPad and MBP.
I have the AT&T plan with tethering ($20 more a month) but it only has Bluetooth and USB sharing. Have they added WiFi Hotspot yet?
MyWi works well but I'd like to keep up with IOS releases and really only used Jailbreak to install the MyWi app. That was before I decided to change my plan to include AT&T data plan with tethering. Now that I'm "legal", I'm asking if the latest IOS has a WiFi tether option along with Bluetooth and USB.
I'm asking on MacRumors because I'll get a straight answer.
Thanks in advance.
Alan

Have you tried resetting the SMC (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964) or the Pram (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379). As for the cracking I would call up apple again and have them replace it.

Thanks eastercat and Applejuiced,
3GS not invited to the party, that's the missing link! I keep reading references to WiFi but it's not there on my 3GS.
I'll admit to never giving Bluetooth tethering a try, will have to do that sometime.
I was waiting for the white iPhone4, but now it seems prudent to hang on a while longer for the iPhone5.

An ARM processor would be terrible. Every app would have to be reworked, things like VMware would be dead, bootcamp would be dead, etc.
