I have the MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008). January 2011 I purchased a new charger. Everything was going fine until last night.
1. It will go from charging to not charging. Sometimes, when I moved the charger cord it would start charging(almost like a short). But, I think it's much more complicated than that.
2. It will randomly shut off. I have the charger connected because I'm trying to get it to charge... it only shuts down when it is not charging(but when the charger is connected)
3. The System Profiler says that the charger is NOT connected. When I tried to do system updates it said to connect the charger. It was plugged in but it won't read.
4. I also checked the battery info in System Profiler. It says the condition is "good".
5. I have all the updates up to date.
6. I've shut it off and reset the SMC.
7. I have a hard time turning it back on. I have to press the power bottom at least 3 times before it starts back up.
Nothing seems to be working. I plan on taking it in to a store, but I have midterms THIS WEEK and this is the worst time for me to make an extra trip. Thankfully I have access to my boyfriends computer.

It looks like a hardware issue, call apple and set an appoinment. Also if you have an extra magsafe brick try to use it and see if that solves the issue

Since the 2nd computer is the admin, that user will be able to look at the logs on the TC. Pretty much every router keeps a log of the URLs accessed by each computer.
So the admin will pretty much be able to see which websites you've visited. Plus the logs are timestamped.

Have any idea of the weight/size of box? I really want one, but have always ruled it out because of incredibly expensive UK shipping. If I have weight and size I'll work it out.. Thanks. Unlikely it will be doable unfortunately :(.
I will only ship to the USA sorry

Yes! both do support skype but not to video's. iPod touch also doesn't have a mic so more likely you can't have 2-way voice.

Get a long-ish HD-quality video on YouTube and make the player full screen.
That should get the fans spinning.

I doubt there would be a huge difference, but if you are looking for numbers, the high end 15" MBP has the 6750M in it and there are lots of benchmark numbers for it floating around the 'net. That should give you at least a baseline of what to expect from the 6750m and if that is "good enough" for you, then I would roll with that.
Just my .02 worth.
P.S. Yes I realize that they utilize different processors, and other factors can cause the benchmark numbers to vary, but it is a good baseline for what to expect in the iMac.
Thanks dude. Will go check. Did not realise bout the MBP.

You're thinking of Don LaFontaine, who passed away in '08.

Unfortuantly, the only answer I have read is your going to have to put your internal DVD unit back in and install it this way and switch back. Pain the ass but won't take that long.

Yes it does (referring to the HDMI digital adapter that Apple sells) been using mine since they released it and it works perfectly. Great video too coming from playing Netflix (iPhone) to a HDTV.
Does DisplayOut do this? Or do I have to modify the plist file to get audio out too?

7 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, or

I have a couple websites that are hosted on the "Web" area in my iDisk and am wondering how I can setup my web editor of choice, Coda, to access the site remotely. From what I understand, this is the same area where iWeb created site are deposited. I have been getting my with drag and drop so far but it can be a PITA.
Bonus question: Anyone successfully run a WordPress site on .mac?
Any help or insight greatly appreciated. -Hugo
FTP access available for .mac? I'd really like to live edit via Coda. Thanks!

Simple problem, but it is bothering me. On my Droid I was able just to highlight a new number or click on a text and it would enable me to create a contact if one had not already been created. Now I have to manually type in a contact on my Iphone. Is there any way to do this? Am I missing something?
if you click and hold on a number you are given the option to add to an existing contact or create a new one from it.

I guess it all depends on several factors:
1. What purpose do you have for external drives? Time Machine? Video editing?
2. Do you need it today? If so, eSATA is your only real choice until more Thunderbolt drives come to market.
3. How many drives do you need to attach externally? eSATA is one drive per connector. Thunderbolt allows for daisy-chaining drives.
4. Are you filthy rich? The first-generation Thunderbolt drives are gonna be very expensive.

I'm tring to sell it because I bought 2 iPad 2's hoping to make a $100...
You are going to get a lot of HATE from the members of MacRumors if you are trying to make a profit off the iPad 2 release. Shame on you BTW.

Since I have an iPad 2, I just used my HDMI Digital AV Adapter on my iPhone 4 with DisplayOut. It works fine. You can find HDMI Cables for like $6 online. I recommend getting the Digital AV Adapter that Apple sells because it has a 30 pin port on the adapter so you can charge your iPhone while the adapter is plugged into your iPhone.

I don't think that really applies to Macs though.
With AMD, new chips are being released constantly. With Mac computers, a new revision of the Powerbook can happen anywhere from 6 months or longer. So people are more willing to wait for the new macs to be released, so that they can have the latest and greatest for those 6 months or longer.
I don't know why, but even though there's a lot of rumours about the next revision of the PBG4 being released within the next few weeks, i just don't think it's going to happen.
Don't get me wrong, i hope it does as i want one, but i've got a feeling that we won't be seeing a new mac for a while (Maybe January). None of these rumors seem to have any hard kind of facts to base their estimations of the release on.
