The best advice I can give is to install firebug on FF or Chrome, and edit the styles directly in the browser until you figure out what's wrong - it's a great way to learn

I keep forgetting about MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) and end up using Google.
They're one and the same. MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) is nothing more than a Google search with "site:forums.macrumors.com" added to the search terms, to restrict the Google search to the forum.

3GS not invited to the party, that's the missing link! I keep reading references to WiFi but it's not there on my 3GS.

I'll admit to never giving Bluetooth tethering a try, will have to do that sometime.

I was waiting for the white iPhone4, but now it seems prudent to hang on a while longer for the iPhone5.

Those sound massive. Maybe they're from MacWorld (Powerbook G4) or WWDC (Powermac) expos or something. I have only been to an Apple store 3x, but I can't imagine them using anything that big. Thats why I would guess expo banners instead. Sound like a cool way to wallpaper the garage!

I think that San Francisco will remain the home of Macworld. That attract an audience from around the world. Steve likes it there, which is of up most importance. I hope to go there just once for all the enthusiasm, Steve Jobs, and all the 3rd party exhibitors.

Yes, this did occur to me. A big player like Starbucks may get hundreds of thousands of promotional codes, but will Apple pay any attention to a small fry like me?

Well, I think that if you want, say, 500 they might work with you. I also think it depends on the success of the app in question. How many promotional codes are you aiming for?

that's the Smooth tool not the Brush tool. If that's what you really get when you click the Brush tool try resetting Illustrator's Preferences:

Move or rename the Adobe Illustrator Preferences file: Users/[user]/Library/
Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS[X] Settings

Then restart Illustrator.
