 LG Electronics also has presented a line of external hard drives, XD5 Mini on the South Korean market.

New LG XD5 Mini is made in the 2.5-inch form factor and having a thickness of 13 mm, designed primarily for use with netbooks, the lateral faces are decorated with inscriptions storage enclosures of My Netbook Friend. As image, The LG XD5 Mini is depicted next to a LG X120 netbook (see photo below).

LG XD5 Mini hard drive is support data transfer interface of SATA II. The LG XD5 Mini external HDD includes two models: the first has a capacity of 320GB and the second has 500GB of capacities. In addition, there are two color options: white with pink inset and black with red inset.

Dell debuts new Latitude XT2 XFR rugged convertible tablet PC

 Dell has unveiled a new rugged convertible tablet PC today called the Latitude XT2 XFR. The rugged tablet machine has a 12.1-inch screen and is designed to meet the demands of work in the field. The notebook is 1.5-inches thick making it the thinnest rugged convertible around.

The notebook starts at 5.4 pounds with a 4-cell battery and a SSD. Dell engineered the machine to meet MIL-810G standards for operation in harsh environments and Dell expects to meet MIL-810G certification soon. The rugged tablet features Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs and up to 5GB of RAM.

Battery options include 4-cell, 6-cell, and 9-cell units and the machine has QuadCool Thermal management System to allow it to operate in temperatures ranging from minus 10 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.  Among the many benefits of working from home is that you don’t have to worry about nasty coworkers getting you sick with their cold and flu germs. Still, with any shared computer in the home or office, you run the chance of contaminating each other. The keyboard is one of those places in the home where germs lurk because most keyboards simply can’t stand up to sanitation.

A company called Vioguard has announced a new keyboard called the UVKB50 that is a self-sanitizing unit that uses UV light to kill germs. According to the manufacturer, the UV light is powerful enough to kill the dreaded H1N1 swine flu that is making its rounds. The light also kills other types of germs like MRSA and more.

The keyboard slides into a tray that you LCD sits on. Inside the enclosed tray is a UV light source with 50-watts of UV light that can kill 99.99% of harmful bacteria and viruses in seconds. Too bad the light can’t glean the Cheetos crumbs from between my keys too. The bad news is that the keyboard costs more than many computers at $899. Shipments are set to start in November to consumers.

Featuring a modular design, the panel can dispatched to your window to soak up the rays for 10 or 20 hours (depending on the amount of sunlight it receives) and then returned to your dock for about nine hours of music playback, recharge your iPhone (twice!), or provide about four hours of light with the LED desk lamp. Of course, most people are going to hang this thing in the window once, forget about it, and then spend the next several years powering their devices with the included AC adapter -- but at least they're trying, right? Lenovo gets official with Win7-powered IdeaPad and IdeaCentre machines

 Lenovo already got official with a couple of its Windows 7-powered machines last week, but it looks like the rest of the crop is landing today. Of course, we've already seen the 11.6-inch IdeaPad U150 and 15.6-inch U550 pop up in various corners of the globe this month, and the IdeaPad U350 has been around since the summer. That said, we'll take the OS refresh and minor spec bumps any day of the week (along with new colors on the S10-2), and that's exactly what we're getting. We'll spare you the rehash (it's all there in the read link if you need a refresher), but over on the desktop front, we're pretty stoked about the stylish (and previously rumored) all-in-one IdeaCentre B500. Packing a Core 2 Quad CPU, 1TB of HDD space, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 23-inch LCD, this thing may actually perform fairly well in tasks more strenuous than checking email. The business-minded K300 and bargain-priced H230 ($299 starting point) are less thrilling from a hardware perspective, but they'll certainly fit their respective molds quite well. The whole lot should be available to order soon directly from Lenovo, and there's bound to be plenty of options for those not content with base configurations.

Sony 3D Prototype Advances Technology

 Although this is still a prototype certainly has aroused no little interest shown this tool to preview at the Tokyo Digital Content EXP0 held a few days ago in Japan, designed by Sony, apparently able to create a three dimensional image.

The image shows that the instrument is a 24-bit stereo that accurately measures 96 × 128 pixels and has the useful feature of not having to necessarily require special glasses to be fully appreciated, which opens the door to many possible technology applications such as in TV, in the frames and, why not, in video.
